Admission FAQ'S
Admission applications can be made any time during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) by applying in person at Northwest Health Careers admissions office, or you can schedule a tour with one of our admission representatives.
Northwest Health Careers Admission Requirements
In order to be eligible for admission to our school, you must have a High School Diploma from an accredited High School or a GED. You must be at least 18 years old.
Northwest Health Careers offers courses in Dental Assisting, Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting, Medical Insurance Specialist, Phlebotomy and CPR. We also offer online GED instruction for interested students.
In order to be admitted to Northwest Health Careers, students must have the following:
- Be interviewed by a Northwest Health Careers admission representatives
- Tour our facilities
- Provide proof of High School diploma, GED or pass an Ability to Benefit Test
- Complete the student enrollment forms
- Arrange for payment through tuition financing
- Be approved for admission by our Director of Admissions
The best time to visit is in the morning or the evening, so we can show you active classes and labs, and you can meet the instructors. We are anxious to show off our facility and get you the information you need to determine if we have the right culture, environment and program for you. Come in and take a tour. Ability To Benefit Testing
If an applicant is past the compulsory public school attendance age and applies for admission at Northwest Health Careers Training Center, it will be based on their Ability To Benefit. This will be measured in the form of a timed, federally approved exam called the ATB test.
GED
We recommend that any prospective student who did graduate High School and has not received their High School equivalency exam do so as soon as possible. Secondary school credentials are not required for admission but they do improve an applicant's potential prospects.
Credit for Previous Training and Work Experience
An applicant with previous training or related work experience may be issued credit for courses and tuition. Credit will only be given on the basis of a written evaluation by an authorized school official. Credit may not be issued for more than 50% of course work.
