Today’s Massage Therapist professional is expected to understand the intricate workings of the body and use this knowledge to enhance overall health and wellness through the practice of massage therapy. With so many advancements in the massage therapy industry in Las Vegas, it is important that the therapist be able to express proficiency in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities.
This program will take you through the necessary steps of theoretical learning and provide the hands on training necessary for you to become a licensed massage therapist, not only in Las Vegas, but with national certification. The courses in the massage program are designed to diversify the student’s knowledge of massage therapy by including ancient and modern techniques.
In addition to the hands on training the students will receive from their instructors, Northwest Health Careers offers a unique learning experience for our students in the form of our Student clinic. The clinic has been established in Las Vegas for over 13 years! Clients are brought in Monday – Saturday for the students to practice their newly taught techniques and receive feedback from actual clients. Most importantly, this experience simulates the environment in which the students will one day work and teaches the importance of patient care, communication and appropriate professional behavior.
National Success
In order to obtain a license as a massage therapist in the state of Nevada, graduates must pass a National Board examination given by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). This exam determines the future of all massage students and is therefore extensively prepared for throughout the program. Before completing the program, every student takes our Massage Therapy National Board Review class. The curriculum for this class has been modified continuously over the past 13 years by physicians, including our Director Dr. John Kenny, and licensed practitioners. Students from massage schools all over Las Vegas as well as students from other states have attended the Northwest Health Careers National Board Review class! Northwest Health Careers has opened its doors to massage therapy graduates from across the Las Vegas Valley who have expressed interest in taking our National Review course in order to help employ as many massage therapists as possible to meet the high demand in Las Vegas. After all, completing schooling and receiving a certificate is not enough to become a licensed massage therapist in the state of Nevada.
The goal of Northwest Health Careers is to provide our Massage Therapy students with a comprehensive review for the massage therapy board offered by the NCBTMB. Our overall purpose is to prepare our students to pass this exam so that they can find employment at the many different job opportunities available to massage therapists locally in Las Vegas and all over the country!
