Philosophy
Northwest Health Careers’ Phlebotomy Technician program prepares
you for a wonderful profession in such high demand. This short and rigorous
program provides the student with the necessary Phlebotomy training
required to work in a lab, medical office, hospital or any other medical
facility where blood draws are performed. The expectations of today’s
Phlebotomy Technicians are constantly changing as they are expected
to adhere to the ever changing regulations imposed by national organizations
including OSHA and HIPPA.
Upon completion of the coursework you will receive on
the job training at an off site Phlebotomy facility. During this externship,
you will encounter real patients and put the knowledge you have gained
to the ultimate test. Our instructor teaches the students about the
proper professionalism required to work in these different medical facilities
and as a result our students typically excel in the externship arena.
We encourage our students to treat this experience as an extended job
interview and we have seen an overwhelming percentage of them gain employment
at their externship site.
National Success
After you successfully complete your training at Northwest Health Careers you
will receive a diploma which qualifies you to sit for a certification exam.
Our phlebotomy technicians are qualified to sit for the RPT exam administered
by the American Medical Technologists. Having the opportunity to take these
examinations is an important aspect of achieving professional success as
a phlebotomist. Phlebotomists who are certified have increased employment
opportunities and are qualified to gain employment at prestigious medical
facilities and labs. Our graduates have achieved tremendous success on this
examination and have far surpassed both State and National averages.
